Wanted: PdF 2012 Conference Curator

The word “curator” comes from the Latin root “cura,” which means “to care” or “to care for.” Its classical usage is to describe someone who puts together a collection for a museum or exhibit, but more recently, it has also come to mean someone who collects and sifts information or ideas, or who nurtures a community or a conversation.
Well, we’re looking for someone who fits all of the above, to curate the next annual Personal Democracy Forum in New York June 11-12, 2012. It’s a great, challenging and rewarding job, as I have written: you get to work closely with many of the most innovative people in the worlds of tech, politics, media and advocacy; you get to shape an amazing event; you get to blow some minds; and you sometimes even get to help move the world in a better direction.
There are more details about the job here, along with information on how to apply.
Oh, and if you’re wondering–no, this doesn’t mean I’m leaving Personal Democracy Media. As editorial director, I’ll be overseeing the curation of the conference along with guiding the evolution of techPresident and our other efforts. But starting in late January, I’m going to be moving up to Cambridge to teach a course on “The Politics of the Internet” at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and Andrew Rasiej (Personal Democracy founder) and I felt this was a good time to make room for someone great to add their ideas and perspective to the annual forum.
