Notes from PDF 2006 Afternoon

Notes from the PDF afternoon:

From the “How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Blogosphere” panel, Roger L. Simon of Pajamas Media announced about the launch of “Politics Central,” a new feature of his news/blog aggregation site. He admits that “we made a bunch of mistakes” in PM’s first incarnation, and promises that Politics Central that will “get past the name-calling.”

Elizabeth Edwards announcing the launch of the new OneAmerica site…she talks about reading lots of local blogs, and says “if there’s one blog I go to everyday it’s TalkingPointsmemo, becuase I think he’s a real journalist…I love what he did on the Duke Cunningham story…” She also tells us that during the 2004 campaign she urged the professionals in charge to make their site more dynamic, and was told they didn’t think it was important since the web was just “full of conservatives.” How much time does she spend online? After getting the kids off to school, she says, “from 8 in the morning til 11 at night,” which includes reading and posting comments on blogs. She looks forward to the day where she will be able to post on blogs in her own name.
